La Mesa, San Diego County
The center of La Mesa is called the Village, a few blocks of shops and restaurants along La Mesa Boulevard. Its old depot, built in 1894, is the last surviving station of the San Diego and Cuyamaca Railway and is kept as a small museum with a steam locomotive outside. Each fall the Village hosts an Oktoberfest that dates to 1973.
